Articulation of International Baccalaureate Examinations
1.0 POLICY
1.1 The policy of the University shall be to articulate satisfactory performance (defined
as a score of 4 out of 7 or better) on the International Baccalaureate (IB_ )
examinations with credit units in General Education {GE) areas in general and specific courses, where appropriate. Academic Departments shall articulate 1B examinations with particular courses, whereappropriate.
2.0 PURPOSE
2.1 . The 18 program is a program of college-level work given in high school, similar to the Advanced Placement program, and is widely used outside the United States, while becoming more popular in the United States. Students who have successfully completed 1B courses are often excellent students who are highly motivated.
3.0 PROCEDURES
3.1. The University Office of Admissions and Records shall accept 1B courses for admissions.
3.2. When new 1B examinations are established, the Articulation Officer shallinform the appropriate Department Chair(s), who shall determine the articulations,if any, with that examination for inclusion in the Catalog.
